Former JOCO club president, current board member, veteran, all-around “good guy,” car, and aviation enthusiast, Mike Scott passed away on Saturday, August 23rd, after having fought a rare health condition for more than a year. Mike was a friend to everyone in the Jaguar Club, and he ably served as club president in 2017 and 2018. Many of us will fondly recall our club picnics at his four acre “estate” in the hills of West Linn that were always a highlight on the club calendar.

Of all the coincidences… . Once upon a time, several years ago, Mike was a relatively new member attending one of his first board meetings as a club member. New member Jim Rathbun walked in just before the meeting started. Then and there Jim and Mike rekindled a friendship that had started in their grade and high school years in Lake Oswego. Their mutual love of Jaguars had brought them together again decades later.

This only proves that we must make the most of the time we have together, because tomorrow is never guaranteed. Mike will be laid to rest at Willamette National Cemetery. A memorial service is pending. Fair winds and following seas, Mike.
